WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

This last week was only two days, but we had fun learning about folk tales and tall tales. The children got to look for exaggeration. We practiced rhyming and counting by ten to one hundred. By using Jack Hartman’s YouTube video “See It, Say It, Sign It” we have begun to learn the letters of the alphabet in ASL.

This week we start a new unit called “I Build, I Create”. For the week we will concentrate on “Construction Terms”. Focus letters this week are O, o, R, r, S, s, T, t. There will be practice on rhyming and naming the beginning sounds of words.

Valentine’s Day Party

On February 14 we will be doing a Valentine’s Day party during class. It will be from snack time on. (10-110:30 and 1:55-3:15) I am looking for a couple of parents who would be able to come in and help with the parties. Also, the children are asked to bring a Valentine for each of their classmates. These can be store-bought or handmade. Your choice. If your child will need help making their Valentine’s please let me know and I can help them at school.

That day we will play some games and the children will help to pass out their Valentine’s.

Boston School Forest

On April 16 4K will be going to the Boston School Forest. Students will go during their class period. We will leave as soon as we start class and return just before class time ends. If you are interested in volunteering we would love to have you. You would have to fill out a volunteer form for Canaland ahead of time. Please let me know if you want to attend.

January Activity Calendar

Keep working on those January calendars. There are some good ideas. Please turn them in by February 6. Thank you for all that you do.
