January 15-19, 2024

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

Despite shortening our week with a snow day we had a lot of fun exploring traditional tales. The children enjoyed some of the old stories and rhymes and reviewed some stories that they had heard before. We also got to go outside and enjoy the snow.

Hopefully this week the temperatures will be warm enough for us to explore all of the new snow from this weekend. (The feels like temperature needs to be at least 20 degrees Fahrenheit.) This week we will focus on fairy tales. There will be interesting characters and rhyming and adventures. We will work on writing S, J, and D. Social/emotional lessons will focus on “Fair Ways to Play”.

No School

Please note that next Monday and Tuesday are no school days for the public schools and therefore for 4K as well.

Boston School Forest

On April 16 4K will be going to the Boston School Forest. Students will go during their class period. We will leave as soon as we start class and return just before class time ends. If you are interested in volunteering we would love to have you. You would have to fill out a volunteer form for Canaland ahead of time. Please let me know if you want to attend.

January Activity Calendar

Keep working on those January calendars. There are some good ideas.
