Week of: October 30-November 3, 2023
Mrs. Missy Kessel – Lead Teacher Mrs. Jessica Paulsen - Assistant Teacher
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Career speakers this last week were Chuck Kania in the afternoon and Will Mahony in the morning. Chuck talked about his job selling trading cards. Will talked about being a pharmacist. Students were excited to hear from them and were appreciative that they came in. Remember if you would like to share please contact Mrs. Kessel and we can set that up.
This week we talked about who provides services in our community and what do they do. We found a very nice video called “Occupations” by the Learning Station. The children seemed to really like it. There were different stories about people’s occupations and we discussed how we can be helpers.
Big and Little is the theme this week. During the week we will explore the fact that big and little is somewhat a matter of perspective. We will be comparing things and working on telling the difference between big items and little items. There will also be a few more guest speakers and hopefully some outside time. (Don’t forget the coat, hat and mittens.)

Picture Day
November 7 is picture day! Please dress your child appropriately. We will do a group class photo. You also can have your child’s photo taken. This is a nice time to get a picture of your children together and separately.
I am sending home the permission form for this. Please fill it out and send it back.
Picture Book
I know that we just had everyone do a family poster, but I was wondering if we could have a picture of your family that we could put in a scrap book for the year. Having a picture of families in our room can be a great tool to create interest and to help those who sometimes miss you.
Thank you for your help.
Turkey FeatherTurkey feathers have been sent home. Please decorate any way you would like. The emphasis should be what is your child thankful for? Please try to have it back by November 2.
Coats, Hats and Mittens
Thank you for making the switch! We are doing fabulous. The children are coming with hats and mittens. When they have their own we get outside faster and have more fun.
