Weeks of: October 29-November 3, 2018
Mrs. Missy Kessel – Lead Teacher, Miss Meghan Trierweiler – Assistant Teacher
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
This week will be studying Fall and Harvest Time. We will read some books, make some art projects and have a party. We also will work on patterns, both copying or extending a pattern and making our own. Writing the letter L and our names will be the focus of handwriting. There will be more work on our feelings and identifying different ones in ourselves and others.
Don’t forget to join us Monday night for Handwriting without Tears Night and learn how we teach that program.
PETE THE CAT, GILBERT THE SHARK, AND BISCUIT
Sad news, Mrs. Kessel forgot to get the log information before sending our friends home on Thursday, so next week’s newsletter will be extra-long and cover two weekends. Sorry about the mix up.

On October 31 we will have a Harvest Party. This year we will celebrate with the rest of Canaland from 9-11. Your children are free to wear a costume as long as it is not “scary” (Please no ghosts, witches, ghouls, etc.)
This week we have our first student birthday of the school year. I want to remind parents that you may send a sweet treat with your child on or near their birthday. Please remember two rules: 1. It must be from a commercial kitchen. (You must buy it.) 2. No Nuts, not only is Canaland nut free, but there is at least one nut allergy in our class.
The school district is offering a very fun event for your 4K child. They will get to pick out and paint one Christmas ornament on November 5 or 6 from 4-7 pm at Clay Corners in Plover. Check it out. It is a lot of fun.
Pumpkin Pie Party
On Monday, November 19 from 5-6:30 pm 4K will have a Pumpkin Pie Party. We will make a no bake pie during class that day and share with our families that evening. There will also be games, coloring and lots of fun. Please RSVP so that we can make enough pies.
Handwriting Without Tears Event
Thank you to all the families that were able to come to the Handwriting without Tears Event. We appreciate that you took your time to come and see what we are doing.
Please send your child with coat, hat and mittens. When it snows snow pants and snow boots as well. Also, please be sure that extra clothes are seasonally appropriate. Thank you.
