WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

Fire safety is a very fun unit. We are having fun with all the firetrucks and puzzles, as well as the crafts. Monday is Columbus Day so we will learn a little about that, and Tuesday is ethnic day, China. In Handwriting without Tears we will continue with colors and shapes, and try our letters with the Stamp ‘n See tool. For the social/emotional time we will focus on Following Directions. Hopefully many students with be able to apply this skill more completely. Fall is fun and very exciting.

PETE THE CAT, GILBERT THE SHARK, AND BISCUIT

Pete the Cat Had fun with Kendyl and her family. They ran errands with Mom, and went to Uncle Luke’s farm. There was also snuggling during movies. Saturday they visited Grandma Cheryl’s and fed the cows. Later there was pool birthday party for a friend. Pete just watched. Packer Party on Sunday! Also, some arts and crafts.

Anna made Gilbert the Shark his own comfy, cozy bed. They played with her brother, James and her Grandma. Apartment shopping happened Friday afternoon. This is needed during the building of their new home. Saturday was fun playing and going to Culver’s for dinner and ice cream! A grocery store adventure with Dad on Sunday, and making homemade apple sauce.

Biscuit got to go with Rylee Jo to Grandpa’s farm! They went on the side by side in the woods and even saw some cows. On Sunday they got to go to church, and had all kinds of fun playing outside.

Harvest Party

On October 31 we will have a Harvest Party. This year we will celebrate with the rest of Canaland from 9-10. Your children are free to wear a costume as long as it is not “scary” (Please no ghosts, witches, ghouls, etc.)

Handwriting Without Tears Event

Have you heard your child talk about Mat Man or sing “Where Do You Start Your Letters?”, and wondered what they were? There is an opportunity for you and your family to come and check out Handwriting without Tears. It is the program that we use to teach writing skills in 4K. You will be able to try out Mat Man, Capital Letter Cards, Stamp ‘n See, Roll a Dough and other parts of the program. There will be lots of hands on activities. We hope to equip you better to help your child learn to write all their letters.

New

If you have moved or gotten a new phone number since you registered in the spring please update the school district and Canaland. It is important that we all have your correct contact information.

Call

Please call if your child is not going to be at school. I do take attendance and turn that into the district.  If you do have a question you can call (715)341-8747, or e-mail me at mkessel@pointschools.net.

Jackets/Hats/Mittens

We will go out. So please send a jacket, sweater, or sweat shirt for outside play. When the temperature is under 50 degrees children also need a warm hat and mittens. Thank you.
