WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Starting this week we will be studying Fire Prevention. We will learn a song, read some books, play with fire trucks and read in fire trucks. We are excited. Reviewing colors and shapes and practicing our names will be a big focus. In the social/emotional time we will focus on self-talk and how that helps us to learn and remember the instructions that we are given. There will continue to be work done on SMART moves and catching and throwing.
PETE THE CAT, GILBERT THE SHARK, AND BISCUIT
Pete the Cat spent the weekend with Brooklyn. Friday night they played and danced in the living room. An early morning for Saturday since they were going to spend some time with Brooklyn’s good friends. They rode bike while they waited. Then off to Altenburg’s for the pumpkin patch with friends. They climbed on hay bales, went on the tractor ride, and picked out pumpkins. There was also a corn maze and a rubber ducky race. Later there was pumpkin painting and bed. Sunday started with breakfast and a movie. Later there were marshmallow creations, chocolate pretzel sticks, and the Packers.
Gilbert the Shark went with Floyd this weekend. They had a lot of fun playing and enjoying their weekend.
Biscuit was excited to go home with Henry. Friday they stayed with Grandma and read stories, watched movies and had a campout in Henry’s room. They played outside and read stories on Saturday while they waited for Mom and Dad to return from their vacation. There were lots of hugs and kisses and a campout in Mom and Dad’s room that night. Sunday was relaxed. They watched movies and the Green Bay Packers.

October 31 Harvest Party
October 21 Mrs. Kessel
On October 31 we will have a Harvest Party. Your children are free to wear a costume as long as it is not “scary” (Please no ghosts, witches, ghouls, etc.) Also, to make the party run smoothly we are asking for volunteers. We could use 2 or 3 people to help with crafts and games. If you are interested please let me know and fill out a Volunteer Application. After that is filled out and a background check is done you can help us out. Thank you for your help
Parents, the district sent you three things to fill out and return to me. I have received most of them. Thank you. However, there are a few people who did not turn in one or more items. Please check around your house and see if you have any of the following still at home: Parent Questionnaire, ASQ-3, and ASQ-SE. These items I need for planning and effectively working with your child, also they go into their file for future reference. Thank you for your help. If you need new copies please contact me and I can get more for you.
Also there was a Family Survey sent home a couple of weeks ago. We have sent out new ones if we did not receive yours yet. This is for an assessment tool and will help me complete that.
If you have moved or gotten a new phone number since you registered in the spring please update the school district and Canaland. It is important that we all have your correct contact information.
Please call if your child is not going to be at school. I do take attendance and turn that into the district. If you do have a question you can call (715)341-8747, or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember the Activity Calendar sent out for September? It is due back by October 4. Put your child’s name on it and mark off any acitvities that you did together, and return it. Then your child will receive a prize. Remember to have fun. Also Thursday you should have gotten an October calendar.
Please send a jacket, sweater, or sweat shirt for outside play. We will go out and if it is under 60 degrees your child needs something to put on. Thank you.
